An enjoyable waste of your valuable time
Well, it seems I have been nominated for a prize in a competition! How exciting! Last time I won anything it was a My Little Pony when I was 11. I never, ever got the point of My Little Pony. Vile things.
Anyway, I don’t know what the prize is, but if you want to vote for me, go visit Moobs. Actually, you don’t have to vote for me, as there are some other tenuous connections that are pretty good.

Okay, I am too late for Moobs’s contest, but I just acquired my own true tenuous connection, and I had to share it somewhere. My coworker’s wife’s purse was snatched by the same guy who (also in my fine Chicago neighborhood) mugged Carol Mosely Braun, my former U.S. senator and a 2004 Democratic candidate for president. Ooh–I thought of another! Another coworker lives in the same precinct as my current senator and 2008 Democratic candidate for pres., Barack Obama. She happened to be there with umpteen members of the media when he cast his vote for himself in the election that made him a senator.
Okay, that was long. Sorry. I got kind of excited.

I’m so touched that you think so! Keep them under your hat for now, and maybe there will be a contest again in ‘08, and I will enter. By that time, it’s likely more people abroad (and, let’s face it, in the U.S.) will have heard of Barack Obama, so I’ll be an even stronger contestant!
