Blah
Sorry – bit quiet. Working hard. Really craving a small pot of chocolate mousse. You know the ones – all gooey and sweet, and made with too much cream.
Also quite fancy a crumpet.
Back soon with an inspiring review of Windhoek’s swinging hotspots, as requested by Susy.
That is all.

had a real kenneth williams moment when eavesdropped on two lovely chaps having a mini spat in sainsburys over the pros and cons of crumpets so chipped in with an ‘ooohh i quite like a bit of crumpet first thing in the morning’ comment. lots of cackling in the bakery aisle..

Ooh – Mel – I can just imagine. I love a bit of cackling, as you know.
Ria – I know. It’s really pissing me off. How do I block it?

..Just curious to know what one gets up to on a Friday night in Windhoek? Being an expat, albeit in boring old italy… its the usual bevvies down the local here.
What does one get cheaply out by way of nectar in Namibia ? Don’t you miss a good old shandy and packet of Walkers.?? COR I know I Do!

Hi there
Really enjoy your writing. Short, pithy, to the point (even when there isn’t much of a point!). I grew up in South Africa (Cape Town) worked in Namibia for a while, lived in Zambia for three years and am now based in Scotland (although probably not for two much longer).
I love Namibia. Talk about space and sky. I love driving there. The dust and the sunsets. Not to mention cheap accommodation and beer.
Raise an ale for me at Joe’s.

Hey, Rachie –
Guessing you’re still snowed under. Which seems an odd thing to be, in Namibia. Oh, the whimsical nature of metaphor, etc.
Just checking in, anyway. Could go for some chocolate mousse too, now you mention. I make it with just a little slosh of Cointreau…

Hey Rach,
Jay took me out for our 1st wedding anniversary (can you believe a year has gone already) and I had the most orgasmic chocolate mouse for dessert. They served it on one of those fancy white square plates – teardrop blob of mouse in one corner then squiggly chocolate sauce over the rest of the huge plate. It was so good I asked Jay if I could lick the chocolate sauce off the plate but he wouldn’t let me. I suppose it isn’t really the done thing to do in a posh restaurant in Alderley Edge!
