Speaking of stupid bloody questions, just a few years ago, I was helping a friend study for his U.S. citizenship test. I was horrified to see that they still ask an applying immigrant whether she is now--or ever has been--a member of the communist party. I still don't want to believe it. Can't the feds at least phase out one brand of official intimidation/persecution before they jump headlong into the next round? Ugh.
